"The family proclamation helps us
understand much of the love the Savior referred to when He told us we must 'love
one another.' (John 13:34)
He gave us the supreme example of love when He declared, 'Greater love hath no
man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.' (John 15:13) He later atoned
for all our sins and finally gave His life for all of us.
"We can lay down our lives for those we love not by physically dying for them but rather by living for them—giving of our time; always being present in their lives; serving them; being courteous, affectionate, and showing true love for those of our family and to all men—as the Savior taught." - Claudio R. M. Costa, "Don't Leave for Tomorrow What You Can Do Today," General Conference, 7 October 2007

“I have learned
much from the scriptures about success. It is wonderful to read about the
journey of Lehi and his family to the promised land. Of Lehi’s older sons, Nephi
and Sam, through their faithfulness to the Lord, charted their course for true
success. For them, being successful meant being faithful in following the Lord’s
commandments. Through their example the lives of millions of people have been
blessed to this date. And because of their obedience, many people have followed
the path of truth and righteousness, striving to be worthy of the Spirit of the
Lord in their lives.” - Claudio R. M. Costa, “Priceless
Principles for Success,” Ensign (CR), November 1994, p. 27

"We are told that 'surely the Lord
God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the
prophets' (Amos 3:7). We learn from this scripture that the Lord will
reveal to His prophets absolutely anything that He feels is necessary
to communicate to us. He will reveal His will to us, and He will
instruct us through His prophets." - Claudio R. M. Costa, "Obedience to the Prophets," Ensign (CR) October 2010
